A Globetrotting Guide to
the Internet Catching Your Breath Feeling busy and distracted? Don't have much time for pleasure right now? If you are feeling this way you might be addicted to the stress hormones which numb your sense of pleasure. it's time to catch your breath. Sit down in a quiet place, close your eyes, and take in a few breaths. Breath in very deeply through your nose until your abdomen goes out. Say the word alo to yourself, softly or aloud. Alo means to share. Then breath out, softly saying the word ha, which means breath, Imagine sitting on one of our beautiful Hawaiian beaches just after you have awakened in the morning. You can feel the soft breeze, hear the waves lapping softly, and smell the gentle tropical air. Take in the subtle scents of the tropical flowers around you. Listen to your heart beat, representing the drums of the Pacific gently thumping a healthy rhythm within you. See the rainbows greeting the new day. Once you feel a little less breathless, stand up and stretch. Call someone you care for and let them know you have embarked on a new direction in life. One that will bring more pleasure into your life and hopefully his or her life, and into the world in general. Catching your own breath is not enough to feel the full benefits of aloha, the true sense of aloha requires continually sharing the breath of life.
